She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Planning in 2015 and completed a PhD looking at experiences of identity and community with queer sex workers, in 2023. Kate’s clinical work has spanned across the out of home care sector, youth, suicide prevention, maternal mental health, pregnancy support, chronic illness and grief and loss. Kate currently works at Adelaide University as a Lecturer in the school of Social Work and Social Care, teaching across the bachelor, honours and masters of social work. She researches in areas such as sexuality, gender identity, stigma, visual research methods, ethical and critical social work, and reproductive justice. Kate also runs a private practice as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Kate’s work is inherently connected to her life experiences and informed by an intersectional feminist approach.
